The 2027 Australian Society of Anaesthetists’ National Scientific Congress is in  Kyoto – the first time the ASA has held its NSC in Japan. This is an exciting moment for our society, and Kyoto feels like a fitting place to come together under the theme Kaizen – Change today for a better tomorrow.

Our committee is looking forward to delivering a program that is engaging, practical and relevant, while also giving delegates the chance to experience the best of Kyoto and the surrounding region. Kyoto is a city where tradition and innovation sit comfortably side by side. From temples and gardens to markets, food and neighbourhoods, there is so much to explore and enjoy outside the congress program.

The congress will be held at the Kyoto International Conference Center, set beside Lake Takaragaike surrounded by gardens and mountain views. With most of the program in one place, delegates will have easy access to sessions, accommodation, transport and Kyoto’s cultural centre. It is a calm and spacious setting for learning, discussion and connection.
