About SIGs

Anaesthetists with interest or skills in a specific area of anaesthesia can participate and contribute to a Special Interest Group. There are currently 17 SIGs operating under the umbrella of the Anaesthesia Continuing Education Committee (ACE Committee). The main focus of each SIG is to provide a forum for continuing education for anaesthetists tending to specialise in these areas.

Membership of SIGs is open to specialists from all medical disciplines and is to be representative of the collegiate and collaborative nature of medicine and the multidisciplinary work of many SIGS. Importantly all members of the SIG (inclusive of the SIG executive) have voting rights.

Associate membership is also open to non-medical specialists. This may include associate members of the ASA and NZSA and/ or allied health professionals. Associate membership requires endorsement from the SIG executive committee. If you do not have a contact in the executive committee and you wish to submit a reference, please contact the ACE team.
