Location: HNE Simulation Centre, John Hunter Hospital Campus.

Aim
To prepare anaesthesia providers for managing a can’t intubate, can’t oxygenate crisis

Modules
Using a combination of skills stations, facilitated by discussions and scenario-based learning, participants will develop and practise the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to recognise and manage the CICO crisis.

Content
– Review of available CICO guidelines
– Decision making and recognition of the CICO crisis
– Team response to CICO
– Tips & techniques for performing needle cricothyroidotomy and surgical airway
